Tretinoin is the "Gold Standard" in Anti-Aging

Close-up of a smiling older woman with gray hair.

    What is Tretinoin Used For?

Whether you’re looking to turn back the clock or clear up your complexion, tretinoin is a versatile powerhouse. It is clinically proven to:

    •  Smooth Fine Lines & Wrinkles:** By stimulating the production of new collagen.
    • Clear Acne & Prevent Breakouts:** By keeping pores clear of debris and reducing inflammation.
    • Fade Dark Spots:** By accelerating the removal of hyperpigmentation and sun damage.
    • Refine Texture:** By smoothing out rough patches for a "glass skin" finish.

    How It Works

Tretinoin works at the cellular level. Unlike a basic exfoliant that just scrubs the surface, tretinoin speeds up **cell turnover**. It signals your skin to shed old, damaged cells more quickly and replace them with healthy, new ones. This process also thickens the deeper layers of the skin, giving you a firmer, more youthful appearance over time.

    Choosing Your Strength

Skin needs time to adapt to tretinoin, which is why it’s available in three primary concentrations. Our providers will help you determine the best starting point for your skin type:

     1. 0.025%: The ideal "entry-level" strength. Perfect for sensitive skin or those starting their anti-aging journey.

     2. 0.05%: The most common "intermediate" strength. Balanced for treating both moderate acne and visible signs of aging.

     3. 0.1%: The highest, most potent strength. Reserved for experienced users or those treating stubborn acne and deep-set texture issues.

    What to Expect: Side Effects

Because tretinoin is so effective, your skin may go through an "adjustment period" (often called the "Retinoid Ugly Phase"). During the first 2 to 6 weeks, you may experience:

    •  Redness & Irritation: A temporary "pinkness" as your skin acclimates.
    • Peeling & Flaking: Your old skin cells making way for the new.
    • Dryness: Tretinoin can temporarily decrease oil production.
    • Sun Sensitivity: Tretinoin makes your skin more vulnerable to UV rays. Daily SPF 30+ is non-negotiable.

Pro Tip: We recommend the "Sandwich Method"—apply a thin layer of moisturizer, then your tretinoin, followed by another layer of moisturizer—to minimize irritation without losing efficacy.

    Safety & Contraindications

Your safety is our priority. Tretinoin is a derivative of Vitamin A and is highly active.

**Important:** Tretinoin **should NOT be used** if you are:

     **Pregnant**

**Planning to become pregnant (trying to conceive)**

     **Breastfeeding**

If you fall into any of these categories, let us know! We have wonderful, pregnancy-safe alternatives like Azelaic Acid that can keep your glow going safely.
